I'm two weeks late I'm never late. I think it might be the jag but I've having a few symptoms
Do cheap tests work?

Yes. They work just as well and sometimes better than the more expensive type

Hellocatshome · 07/07/2021 16:43

Yes they work perfectly fine.

TwoLeftElbows · 07/07/2021 16:44

Yes they do. The positive line can be paler but a line is a line.

PurpleWh1teGreen · 07/07/2021 16:44

Yes - they are testing for the presence of a hormone. If it's detectable, the test will show as positive.

MouldyPotato · 07/07/2021 16:45

Yes they work fine.

Lougle · 07/07/2021 16:46

Yes they tend to be more sensitive, just less 'pretty'.

ArtfulScreamer · 07/07/2021 16:46

Judging by the many is this a line threads featuring these tests I really think you get what you pay for. I always preferred to wait until my period was late before testing with a slightly more expensive test so at least I could be sure of the result. Thankfully with a fairly regular cycle it never cost a fortune.

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 07/07/2021 16:47

Yes they work fine

Lockeddownagain · 07/07/2021 16:48

I've just read a few reviews that say they sometimes dont work. I just really confused period is 14days late and is never late I guess its just to do with the jag

OP posts:
BlueSurfer · 07/07/2021 16:49

I disagree that you get what you pay for. As you have missed your period by a fortnight, and assuming your cycles are fairly regular, any price test will show positive.

MouldyPotato · 07/07/2021 16:51

Lockeddownagain you could try again in a few days?

thecapitalsunited · 07/07/2021 16:52

They work fine but you might not get a super clear line. I got a faint line on second morning urine 3 days after my period was due but it still was a line. The clearblue early detections I did with the next wee were much darker.

DrinkFeckArseBrick · 07/07/2021 16:52

Worked for me

Glitterandunicorns · 07/07/2021 16:53

Hi @Lockeddownagain. There have been lots of women who've reported changes to their menstrual cycle following the vaccination, so it's possible that is what has caused it.

Lockeddownagain · 07/07/2021 16:53

Thanks no line at all. And having crazy discharge all mo th so have no idea what's going on

That sounds more likely to be ovulation. Have you been tracking your cycle?

My period is late too after having my second jab. Ive also done a pregnancy test (negative). There might be a link between the vaccine and delayed periods.
AnneLovesGilbert · 07/07/2021 16:59

Always worked fine for me.

I have the most reliable cycle ever, back immediately after every miscarriage, came back exactly 4 months after giving birth and EBF, nothing’s ever knocked it off course. Was as normal after my first dose of the AZ but a week late after the second.

Was going out of my mind. No contraception worries but I still had several sleepless nights and some major panic. Eventually took a test just in case and it was negative. Because thankfully I wasn’t pregnant.

Anything could be causing yours to be late, including the vaccine, and your mind can play tricks on you when the possibility of pregnancy is occupying you.

Lockeddownagain · 07/07/2021 17:00

I dont temp any more cos I get terrible ovualtion pain and discharge so I know when I'm ovulating however I thought I had ovulated this mo th and was excepting my period on my 40th birthday but it's never shown up I'm getting bad pains in my tummy so but no blood and the discharge has been all month

OP posts:
Paddingtonitspaddingtonbear · 07/07/2021 17:02

My cycle was a lot later than that after the jab.

optimistic40 · 07/07/2021 17:04

Well, they always worked for me!

MrsTophamHat · 07/07/2021 17:05

I've always had correct results from them. Earliest was I think 11/12 DPO.

Have you had your COVID jab in the past month? My periods have been weird after the jab
GenericUsername404 · 07/07/2021 17:06

Cheaper pregnancy tests are just as good as the more expensive ones. They normally work in exactly the same way, one just has a more attractive plastic covering.

Almost every woman I know has had weird periods after their vaccine. I’ve been regular to the hour since I was 15, after the vaccine I had a very light bleed then my period turned up 3 weeks late and lasted for 15 days.

Lockeddownagain · 07/07/2021 17:10

6weeks ago the first cycle was fine
