How can I get a refund

I booked some tickets for an event for my daughter's birthday, unfortunately she now has to isolate so we can't go. The event organiser is only contactable by email. The website says in the event of having to isolate due to Covid please contact them and the will endeavour to rebook you on a different day and if they are unable to refunds will be considered on a case by case basis. I contacted them last week and they haven't replied, we are due to go today. The tickets weren't cheap. I booked on a credit card if that makes any difference. How can I sort this out?

When did you buy them and how much were they? You can claim on your credit card if the total was between £100 and £30,000 and you do so within 120 days of purchase.

I would still send the organiser another email, forwarding the original and restating your case. If they ignore you then your credit card chargeback will be legitimate because they haven't lived up to their contract.

They were over £100 and I booked last week. I did try sending a second email and also copied in the ticket agent who also hasn't replied and also hasn't got a phone number. Thank you I will try one more time and then speak to my credit card company.

I'm not sure you can claim it back on your credit card just because you didnt go???? Different if the place had gone out off business

I'd try them again

Well no, but if they refuse to respond or refund when it's in their info that they will take this exact situation into account then you can. Not exactly a 'choice' not to go. Or maybe OP's DC should just go anyway and spread covid eh?

The ticket agent has just emailed to say, I have to rebook, get a new reference number and then send that to them and they will then refund the original booking...But I can't rebook as there are now no tickets left it has taken them so long to come back to me. Aghhhhhhh, I have recontacted them to point this out and see what they say. Thank you.
