AIBU to 1) be a little bit hooked? But 2) to also think it’s utterly over dramatised, a bit ridiculous and unrealistic?!

I don’t think I know any mum of a toddler and newborn baby, who’s breast feeding, and is constantly up for nights out and sex?

Also, the scene where she watches through the phone....I’d have ended the call as soon as it switched to FaceTime, not sit there watching them! Surely if you were that in love with him you wouldn’t want to see that?

Oh, and I haven’t got past episode 4 yet so no spoilers please!

Just wondering if I’m unreasonable to find it ridiculous yet be hooked at the same time Grin

I couldn't get through the first episode, thought it was awful

bellalou1234 · 06/07/2021 09:19

Loved it

YANBU. It’s tosh but addictive tosh!

Agree never met anyone in her situation b/f her baby and run into shower with husband who then rejects her advances and asks her to get the car fixed……. And angst with bestie re ex for hours. And hours. When ex FTs her to show bestie and him getting it on I’d be hanging up and redialling so I could tell bestie he was doing that unknown to her! Bastard. I’d have a fanjo freeze up at that nasty behaviour myself.

The shower scene at the gym made me snort, the actor playing Cooper’s face was sooo expressive!

Itsnotmyjob · 06/07/2021 09:33

Also the fact she’s called Billie Connelly…..

So glad I’m not the only one who finds it a guilty pleasure Grin

I’m enjoying it so far, but I am eye rolling a lot!

What also makes me laugh is that it doesn’t take a lot to get her going does it Grin literally someone only has to touch her and she’s screaming in ecstasy Grin

I thought it was nice to have the dynamic of the wife having the higher libido represented for once.

We get slammed with this rhetoric that men are sex crazed and women never want sex again after marriage and/or kids.

It was definitely very Hollywood and dramatic, but there were some really cool themes in there that don't usually get addressed.

Loved how it didn't shy away from breastfeeding, and also how awkward sex can be sometimes. Especially with a long term partner.

Just finished the series. OMG. It’s fantasy but I was hooked! And irritated that I find Adam Thingy very hot. Such a cliche, and I’ve fallen for it!

Apart from the sex, and I am enjoying the sex, it’s actually quite female gaze oriented. Its refreshing. The whole having it all debate. Yes it’s glossy and unfeasibly glam but there are a few nuggets of feminist thinking there. Just a few. Pity Billie is so annoying. More Sasha!

I’m finding Coop a bit creepy actually, Brad’s clearly damaged but in this, as it’s fantasy, he’s apparently salvageable, whereas IRL not a chance. Billie is totally self obsessed, so basically it’s that needy wee boy I’m worried about for season 2.
