Is DP a secret MNer?

Several times in last week he has used the term “ducks in a row” he has never used it before but at least three times recently, usually about the same thing (not leaving me!). He’s on he somewhere isn’t he?

Has he 'given his head a wobble', 'screamed in the Sistine Chapel', or even more outing, 'cancelled the cheque'?

Does he have a hobby that you cannot possibly disclose, because 'it's too outing' - i.e cycling, or golf?

AlCalavicci · 05/07/2021 19:49

Waves to @Cocopogo DP to see if they wave back Smile

WorraLiberty · 05/07/2021 19:50

Well if he's not, he might by my grandmother

I doubt it though, as if she were still alive, she'd be 134 years old.

It's really not just an MN saying and never has been.

BritWifeInUSA · 05/07/2021 19:50

Check the bedside table for a penis beaker.

Fidgettoysukcheap · 05/07/2021 19:54

And don't forget to check the back garden for an elderly Korean lady, whilst you're at it! 🤣

FFS I meant be my grandmother!

If he was by her, that really would be weird 👀😂

SuperSecretSquirrels · 05/07/2021 19:57

It’s a very common phrase

Mini 🇲🇽 wave back
Cocopogo · 05/07/2021 20:29

Haha no sign of a beaker by the bed…or Korean lady phew!
Maybe he is your grandmother, he’s getting quite grey these days but I put that down to the stress of getting his ducks in row!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 05/07/2021 20:35

Has he referred to the kids as "the DC"? That's the real giveaway.

ThePearlOfDumbarton · 05/07/2021 20:37

Maybe his sister said it to him?

pigsDOfly · 05/07/2021 20:39

More to the point has he made you throw out all your loo brushes and started washing unsuitable things in the dishwasher; things like the loo seats and crocs.

That would be conclusive proof he's a MNer.

Cocopogo · 05/07/2021 20:40

He hasn’t referred to them as DC but I think I will and see if he bats an eyelid

Justanotherlurker · 05/07/2021 20:44

Ducks in a row isn't a specific MN saying and has been around for years prior to MN, however it has become an overused specific MN meme though.

CityCommuter · 05/07/2021 21:04

@Cocopogo had he used the phrase or acronym LTB yet when talking about someone in a bad relationship? That would be a giveaway Grin

WhatsErFace2020 · 05/07/2021 21:10

Well if he takes an active interest in your streets parking situation...then you know for sure...

SnipSnipMrBurgess · 05/07/2021 21:15

Has he made 50 meals out of one chicken? Is he wearing a specific scarf? Ie he shouting WILLY WILLY at people on the street?

If so, you might be right..

ahoyshipmates · 05/07/2021 21:18

Oh God - he hasn't suggested a holiday in Maui, has he?

AdaColeman · 05/07/2021 21:19

When he’s explaining anything to you, like where he’s going to park, or build a garden wall, does he draw you a diagram?

Does he get excited if he finds a shopping list at the supermarket?

Cocopogo · 05/07/2021 21:39

Haha I forgot about the shopping lists, that’s a blast from the past!

OP posts:
Sertadopt · 05/07/2021 21:42

Ask if he knows the one about Boswell

Blackwidow47 · 05/07/2021 21:46

Has he been liberal with zoflora?

upsideoxide · 05/07/2021 21:50

He's getting his ducks in a row? Aren't you worried ?

LeSquigh · 05/07/2021 21:54

🤣 I’m not sure anything will outdo the Sistine Chapel story. It was a rare occasion that I actually did laugh out loud for real!

RockingMyFiftiesNot · 05/07/2021 21:56

Tell him to leave the washing out overnight and see if he mentions them being darked on or spiders wiping their willies.
I've only ever heard this on MN.
