DD is 7 just finishing year 2.
She has grown in confidence so much this year, has a fantastic relationship with her teacher and both of us will be sad when she has to leave the class at the end of this week to see her new teacher for Year 3 (they have 1 week next week in their new year group, Year 6 are going off to their new schools for the week, all co-ordinated in the local area so all schools in the area are doing the same).
I’m tempted to send an email to the headteacher basically praising the teacher and thanking her for the confidence boost and helping DD to finally love school and want to go every single day – before this year I used to have to bribe her to walk to school in the morning, now she’s out the door before I’m ready.
Progress wise she’s still behind but she’s grown in confidence, has made a lot of new friends and comes out smiling and very chatty every single day (although she still doesn’t tell me what they’re actually doing and just tells me about her friends)
WIBU to do email the HT? I don’t want the headteacher (whose generally lovely and very good) to roll her eyes and delete it.
Also happy to hear suggestions if I should send it to someone else in school rather than the HT.
