Is lilac velvet illegal?! [Lighthearted]

Why oh why oh why can I buy a velvet double bed in five thousand shades of grey or cream that all look the same, but not one in lilac? Or indeed any nice pastel shade that isn't the same blush pink that every bed store on earth now stocks.

I realise this is the definition of a Middle Class Problem but it's driving me mad. I can't be the only woman who wants this, can I?!

Does anyone know of a company that does this? I've exhausted all of the usual suspects e.g. Swoon/Loaf/Next/Dwell/Habitat/Dunelm/Cox & Cox/John Lewis/Dreams etc. etc. Arghhh!

It's velour rather than velvet, but this is lilac at least!

I’ve never bought a bed from Amazon so don’t know what the quality is like, but they have a few in lilac velvet

I took my mother to a local store when she wanted a new bed. They gave her a book of materials to pick from for the bed and headboard. It had dozens of colours...is that not the norm?

I’d settle for being able to get a decent bed frame with a fabric head board that is not velour/velvet.

@magicstar1 that tends to be the way of you want a divan with a headboard. Not if you want a bed with an upholstered frame

@pegasusreturns Understandable - it's a nightmare with dust. I've found other fabric options (linen, cotton, even a corduroy which I thought looked great) but nothing that I like as much as velvet.

I think the problem is that I have a really clear vision of the type of lilac I want - like a really soft, candy pastel shade. I'm starting to think that I'm the one that should be illegal, not the lilac velvet...

There was a nice baby blue bed in bensons for beds at the weekend. I ordered mine in ink blue which is darker.
