To risk going to sleep?

I've just taken a small pill but with not much water and it's got stuck at the back of my throat. I've tried eating and drinking and nothing will shift it.

To makes matters worse I have a fear of choking! Blush

Will it dissolve by itself or is it dangerous to lie down and go to sleep?

It's probably gone down but it's left a dent you can feel. They do that sometimes.

CrikeyPeg · 05/07/2021 00:30

Oooh, such a horrible feeling. I'm hopeless at taking pills and have this problem all the time, esp if they're plain brand and don't have the nice coating so then I'm left with that bitter after taste as well. Have you got any dry bread in the house? if so, try nibbling some of that; hopefully it will catch/disloge the pill, if it is still there.

I'm munching bread sticks and drinking hot herbal tea hoping to dislodge or dissolve it but it feels too high up to be affected by food or drink.

I need to go to bed but don't want to choke in my sleep!

It will totally be fine, but if you're worried, something like a tablespoon of honey will lube things up Grin

Are you sure it is actually still there?

Can you use your phone torch to look in the back of your mouth?

Maggiesfarm · 05/07/2021 01:49

Wait a bit longer. It will go down, honestly.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. I knew I was being silly but just needed to be told it would be okay! Still a slight weird feeling in my throat where it was/is but I survived the night! Grin
