Yes this will get deleted but I was just about to bow out so will post this anyway...
I'm concerned about the evermore unrealistic beauty standards that women are held to. I'm concerned about the sexualisation of women and girls. I'm not that fussed about nails but, as I've said a few times, I see it as one part of the work women are expected to do to their bodies to feel good in some cases, acceptable in others.
I don't like that a multi billion dollar industry keeps finding ways to make women feel insecure, that they need a range of beauty products and treatments to feel good about themselves.
I have said I think the gendered behaviour of extreme bodybuilding is niche but regrettable(?).
I understand you're offended that I have linked nails and the beauty industry to gendered behaviour. You feel I am making you culpable somehow.
But I've tried to suggest there are many reasons women make choices that aren't feminist. I blame patriarchy for that, not women. I'm sorry to have offended you but you haven't changed my mind and I want to go and have an evening now.
All the very best
