Hey.. so I'm new to mumsnet, I had my son by c section four weeks ago sunday.. the wound started to open up on the end and looked abit weepy so I had it seen to by the dr, all she did was use an iodine patch and dressing to cover it and prescribed more so I can do it myself.. this was about two weeks ago now and I feel it's just got worse and other parts of it are now looking the same 🤔 any one else experienced this that can suggest how to sort it out?

Whenever I had a problem with my wound, I went straight back to the maternity unit at the hospital.

Same as the previous poster. I went in several times.

I had this and had to go back to the maternity ward at the hospital I delivered at. Hope it heals soon and congratulations on the birth of your little boy.

You need to go back to your GP and get it swabbed. At 4 weeks you won't come under the midwives anymore. If you start feeling unwell with a temp/chills or it starts getting red you need to ring 111 for OOH GP appt

Mine had a couple of weepy spots at a similar stage. I went to GP and was given antibiotic cream, which didn't do much, then proper antibiotic tablets which solved it pretty quickly.

Go back to the midwifes, they do a post op check in the community, they may be able to come out to you or you visit them. One of the stitches may be irritating, not dissolving. Iodine dressings are good but you want the reassurance that its going to heal and its not infected. Do you feel well in yourself? tea tree oil is also good for cleaning and good to have periods of time without a dressing. do u want to post a pic while you await a review?

Mine opened up at one end after about 2-3 weeks and smelled horrendous. I was given very strong antibiotics and some antibiotic cream to use with a dressing from the GP.
