Can ants create holes in between the patio grout??
Yesterday I discovered quite big holes in the grout of the patio, (we have Indian sandstone if that's helpful to know what type of grout is laid in between)
Probably the size of 1p coin. I know they were not there before as I always sweep/clean the floors and there's no way I would've missed them, especially being in the centre of the patio, yesterday as am sat down I saw loads of ants around the hole just coming out, I looked and can see there's loads more in there, there's two holes filled with ants! Did they create those holes???
We've only had this new patio laid last summer, so it's not even been a year yet. The last three days it has rained, yesterday there was no rain, am thinking can they have ate through it whilst the rain softened it?? I don't know if that's even possible but ants are strong is all I know

Ive no idea, but we had ants in our garden and got rid of them with a powder.

Yes thankfully I had the ant powder and spray at home, I powdered down all the holes and just around the entry points of the house

Had this in our old house. Yep patio swarming when they flew. I boiled the kettle and poured it down the holes.

Does hot water kill them? I found the powder didn't kill them unless it takes awhile to kill. They all came alive and were trying to escape the powder. I sprayed white vinegar on them too, seemed to bring them further more alive. In the end I just stood on them lol and sprayed more powder. I think the powder is killing a lot more insects, I woke up this morning to find a lot of dead beetles (I think that's what they are) on the patio

Powder or bleach. Lots of it

Take a look at Ant Stop Bait Stations

I've a very anty garden and need something both effective and pet/child safe. Hands down the best product I've found...the ants take miniscule amounts of poison back to their nests.
