To get rid of some of my children's toys?!

Driving me mad my house just feels like there are toys everywhere! Two kids 3 and 1 they don't even play with half of them! Debating taking some to the charity shop! How do you decide what goes and what stays haha

Do I need to be ruthless or do I need to pack some away and rotate?? It's just ridiculous now haha

Just be ruthless, either get rid of some and/or have a very strict rotation system. My DS never had too many toys (I charity shopped loads if he was given too many Grin), hasn't done him any harm. I find it slightly obscene the amount of toys some DC have.

I pack away and rotate, it’s a great rainy day activity or when you really need them occupied whilst you do something

Get rid. You will feel better. Pick something they don’t play with and take it out quietly without them noticing. Chances are they will never know.

Its the same here! Same ages and we really don't have the space....i have managed to sneak a few things out by hiding them in a cupboard for a while, if neither of them notice it's gone then its out of here!

Between birthdays, christmas and treats from grandparents we wouldn't have space to move if we didnt have a clear out every now and then...

We regularly cull the toys! We have a toy box in our living room so sort through that and then refill it with the most played with … anything that doesn’t fit and or hasn’t been play with for 3-6 months to charity!

We then Rotate the toys in the box and keep a selection out on top for a few weeks then swap them around

My brother always says my house looks like Smyths toy store.. we got rid of some baby things but packed some away. I can't get rid of it all! Grin.

I just cull. Ds is only 1. The annoying Winnie the Pooh that makes a freaky tune and scares the life out of Ds went in the bag destined to charity today. I don’t see the point in keeping stuff they don’t even like, let alone play with.

Yours are still little enough to either not notice, or not be able to articulate that something has gone... Take advantage of that!
