I'm losing my mind. Spot light measures 35mm across and then 50mm length (including the pins). I cannot find any that fit. Please, please help me. Hoping the picture helps somewhat.

Your picture shows the type you need as it is printed on the edge.GU10 240v/50w if you search for those they're available widely

mineofuselessinformation · 30/06/2021 18:03

The code on the bulb is what you need. GU10 C.
I've had a look and you can get them on Amazon.

ForeverSausages · 30/06/2021 18:04

I've bought GU10 and the standard size is 50mm diameter and the mini GU10 have a standard length of 46mm whereas mine are 50mm length. Maybe it doesn't matter if the length is off?

And unfortunately the 240v/50w doesn't help me with the size of the actual bulb 😭.

Have you no hardware stores you could take it to? That's what I would do. Bulbs Confuse the hell out of me 😂

ForeverSausages · 30/06/2021 18:08

We're in self isolation yet again so I was hoping for an Amazon thing haha. It's actually hurting my brain so at least it's not just me 😂.

Are the pins not 4mm long, so your 46mm bulb plus 4mm of pun makes the 50mm you've measured?

55BrilliantColours · 30/06/2021 18:16

If you add 35mm to a Gu10 search on Google there are loads, like this one www.lamps2udirect.com/specialist-halogen-light-bulbs/mr11-35mm-35-watt-gu10-halogen-light-bulb/67477?gclid=CjwKCAjwrPCGBhALEiwAUl9X06xVShv8gNM5dgdUlJU8fEH5vpbubQysjTlT_q_REvAP5Ln5_j_x5xoCWY8QAvD_BwE

You can also decide whether you want halogens, leds, cool or warm white etc.
Hope that helps

wonkylegs · 30/06/2021 18:16

It's a mini GU10 - if you google 35mm GU10s that should find them. It's the diameter that is key usually not the length
But these are 46mm 5 x 3w LED Small Mini GU10 35mm Light Bulb Warm White Replacement for Small Halogen Spotlight 240v MRGU10 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0721TKJVT/ref=cmswwrcppapiglccfabcFSCDR9KXQ75663Y6KZTD

ForeverSausages · 30/06/2021 18:17

Oh you guys are awesome! I looked at the 46mm because that makes sense but then the pictures show the 46mm including the pins which is when my brain really started hurting.

Oh my days @wonkylegs you have no idea how much I appreciate that. Also, that I'm not losing my mind and that all GU10 lightbulbs are not the same size haha. I have like 30 of them if anyone wants any? 😂😂.

Did you get sorted OK??? I need to buy fridge bulbs for my salt lamp. I keep the box and put a sticky label on the box so I can remember. Also take a photo 😂

Wires, batteries, bulbs, pen refills are all sources of confusion and uncertainty for me.

I remember trying to buy bulbs for our kitchen light and was told they're going out of production, and your thread has made me convinced its this type. I'm going to have to investigate

NotMyCat · 03/07/2021 02:15

This might be teaching to suck eggs but when I know which fit, I cut the side off the box that shows the type/size and then write which light it's for on the back so "bathroom/kitchen spotlights" or whatever (house has too many bloody lights and they're all different)

ForeverSausages · 03/07/2021 09:28

Yes!! They were a bitch to get as they were slightly too short but at least we have light!! 😂😂😂.

And no that's actually really helpful @NotMyCat! We have various unusual light bulbs in our house and it does my head in.

OP posts:
wonkylegs · 03/07/2021 12:51

@NotMyCat I do this and also write the date I replace them on it, as bulbs got more expensive I realised some weren't lasting as long as they were supposed to so I took them back under the guarantee
We had a particularly bad batch from b&q that lasted less than 6mths despite having a lifetime of 15000h.
