Normal for eyes to weep during a cold?

This respiratory virus that's doing the rounds has knocked us all for six. My eyes won't stop dripping. They're not scratchy or sore, just constantly watering. Is that normal or should I be worried?

I had that the other week when I had a streaming cold. Just one eye, but constantly watering. I had one particularly hairy drive to work with only one eye in use
