Is it normal for combi brows to look like this...

1 week later, had microblading with shading. I know scabbing and loss of pigment is to be expected at this stage but I wasn't expecting them to look this bad Confused

Have you spoken to the person who did them?
Mine did go very scabby similar to yours but still colour underneath but don’t worry as they can adjust colour at your top up appointment

Slub · 30/06/2021 15:39

Can't advise but they do look sore! You might be better off getting this thread moved to Style & Beauty as there will likely be more women who have had this procedure done.

ComingOutOfMyCave · 30/06/2021 15:39

Also don’t be tempted to pick as hard as it is as if the scabs come away to early that can take some of the pigment with it

Shapesorted · 30/06/2021 15:39

Gosh, no I don't think so. Can you contact the salon for advice?

DonLewis · 30/06/2021 15:39

I've only ever had microblading and they blnever went like that. Have you kept them dry? Did you get given some vaseline like healing stuff?

BeeDavis · 30/06/2021 15:47

No they shouldn’t look like that, mine never have! Have you been picking them? I’d go back to who did them asap.

tillytoodles1 · 30/06/2021 15:48

I've had mine micrbladed three times and they've never looked like that. I can't even see the scabs, my brows just feel a bit rough for a few days. I'd definitely go back.

ScienceSensibility · 30/06/2021 15:55

Good grief that looks awful.

Can you get a second opinion in the flesh from another practitioner?

MrsRockAndRoll · 30/06/2021 15:57

OP I've had it done a few times and it's never looked like that. Was a patch test done? Have you had a follow up app't yet?

CuntyMcBollocks · 30/06/2021 15:57

They shouldn't look like that! I've had mine done many times and mine naturally fade very quickly, but yours are something else. What aftercare routine have you been told to follow?

CuntyMcBollocks · 30/06/2021 15:59

Also, not everyone's skin is suitable for microblading. Mine isn't, so I have a different method. Maybe that's what has happened to you.

PurpleyBlue · 30/06/2021 16:03

Are they sore?

Lougle · 30/06/2021 16:06

I have no idea but it looks very sore.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 30/06/2021 16:06

Ouch!! You poor thing.

CrazyCatsAndKittens · 30/06/2021 16:07

OMG! You've been like that for a week. That does not look right at all.

Thoughtcontagion · 30/06/2021 16:24

I had mine microbladed and didn’t look like that, even during healing they didn’t.

CharlotteRose90 · 30/06/2021 16:30

Nope. They are meant to scab a bit but that’s it. They look sore and almost burnt. I’m sorry . Please go back to the place that did it or try another salon for advice. That’s definitely not right.

CallMeNutribullet · 30/06/2021 16:33

Have you been picking at them op? Because you'll ruin the pigmentation that way. They're very scabby, mine did scab but not that frequently

CallMeNutribullet · 30/06/2021 16:33

*badly

Hombadigada · 30/06/2021 16:43

They aren't sore at all but they do look horrible right now don't they. I've had microblading done before years ago but this time I've had shading as well and i know that it does cause more scabbing. I just wasn't expecting them to look like this. I messaged the salon and they said they look fine, it's normal for combi brows to go like this. It's a work in progress and this is the worst part! I've done some research online and I've just asked someone I remembered who had hers done and she said hers were the same, and found a few pics online comparing stages such as attached pic so I'm not panicking as much now!

Combi brows are different to microblading and the scabbing is not comparable.

combi brows are a bit of microblading, for the defined ‘hairs’ but it’s predominantly shading which is tattooed in.

Because of that there is significantly more ‘wound’ to scab, as with any tattoo.
They do look significantly worse when they are scabbing but as long as you don’t pick them they will heal fine.

Yellow85 · 30/06/2021 18:46

I assume you’ve had machine brows as iooosed to micro blading? If so then Yes!!! I get machine method brows and whenever I have shading my brows are the same as yours are. That being said, I have really rubbish retention so always need a bit more on top up each time. You’ve got new skin over the tattoo, the ink should push back through, do not pick!!! Trust the process. You’re at the stage where you are thinking ‘what the hell have I done?’

Hombadigada · 02/07/2021 10:35

Just a little update... Wednesday v this morning. Trust the process indeed, I'm getting there! Phew!!
