To spend the whole summer traveling

Some of you may remember my huge row with sister on holiday thread Grin

Well my sister went back home due to work and I extended my holiday because I was not ready to come back.

I was going to come back home soon and then travel some more in August. But with all the news of EU countries banning/quarantining British travelers I'm thinking maybe I should take advantage of being in another country right now and fly somewhere from here and then if my finances permit, just keep traveling for the rest of the summer. I missed traveling so might as well take advantage for the summer just in case we are in another lockdown in autumn or something.

Work is not a problem, I freelance and work from home so I can work from anywhere.

Would you do it if you were me?

YABU - You're crazy, we are in a pandemic, selfish, granny killer etc.
YANBU - Enjoy yourself

If you're travelling on a British passport, you're still subject to all the same rules and regs no matter if you are flying out of a British airport or not. If an EU country has banned British travellers; that includes you.

Justcallmebebes · 30/06/2021 12:01

Good luck with that one OP. I feel it would be far more hassle and expense than it's worth at the moment

This is simply not true. My sister lives in France has a UK passport and travelled to Milan yesterday

Agree, this is completely incorrect. It's travellers coming from certain countries who are banned, not travellers with certain passports.
GaspingGekko · 30/06/2021 12:03

@claralara42 Are you sure about that? The restrictions are generally based around where you are coming from / have been for the preceeding 10 days.

OP I would personally carry on travelling as and while you are able to. As long as you aren't breaking any local rules and are taking sensible precautions. The main risk is rules changing suddenly and you suddenly becoming stranded somewhere. But as you seem able to work from wherever you are that doesn't seem like it would be too much of an issue.

YANBU if work and finances allow - go for it!

sonjadog · 30/06/2021 12:06

If you can afford it, then go for it! If it doesn't work out, then just get a flight back to the UK from where you are.

YANBU. Keep on going and have a lovely time.

SuperMonkeys · 30/06/2021 12:17

I would keep on trucking.
