Are there any genuine threads left on MN?

I know, I know, I shouldn't expect to believe anything I read on a forum.

But come on... it's getting more and more ridiculous.

I think 4 or 5 of the ones I was interested in over the last day have been pulled.

Almost every, single post I read now I spot a 'tell' and just think 'wait for the message.

Such a shame.

Only yesterday, I was feeding the twins and waiting for my husband to come home from his six figure salary niche job when my SIL called to say her DD was now trans and wants to be known as Larry from now on. I advised her to turn to MM for advice, (even though she claims six different benefits and spends it all on hair extensions and acrylic nails, she still needs to talk) but she said it was full of made up stories. I mean honestly, who would embellish things like that, eh?

And the ones that get pulled are just the tip of the iceberg IMO. I take everything with a pinch of salt.

A lot of it is freelance journos looking to get PAYED.

I'll reply properly in a minute. I've just want to check out a hidden doorway behind a wall that we just pulled down in the house we inherited from A Rich Aunt that came without deeds or a surveyor's report.

This is a forum where people will offer genuine support & advice from a broad and diverse demographic so you can, people being dicks aside get a balanced insight into whatever the post is about. Trolling here when there are real people with real issues or even just real people looking for some lighthearted escapism is pretty sad/pathetic really, I’d say OP don’t give up - just ignore the losers & move on!

I agree. I look at every thread genuinely but sometimes it's hard not to be cynical when threads degenerate.

I have posted in the past and had the thread deleted because people said I was lying. It's annoying when you have talked about something you wanted to get off your chest only to be told it's a good story.

Really?! I spend a lot of time on AIBU (work procrastination!) and I’d say less than 5%of threads get pulled.

We have a reputation for being hysterical frothers, so we get lots of Wedding/breast feeding/ benefit scrounger trolls who just wind 'em up and watch them go.

It's boring and getting worse.
