Fed up FOR the children

Yabu for a) not posting this in the coronavirus topic and b) starting another thread on something that has been discussed to death

ChainJane · 29/06/2021 15:36

YABU, schools are indoors and it's indoors where COVID spreads most easily. A lot of outdoor events require testing/proof of vaccination that is not appropriate for school children.

Sports events and schools are unrelated. It would be like me complaining that you were able to buy a pizza in Tesco but my tap is constantly dripping. They're different issues.

another thread about this, good grief

Thunderpunt · 29/06/2021 15:41

Oh dear OP thread police are out in force.... only allowed to post where they say...

luxxlisbon · 29/06/2021 15:43

Yawn.
Do the people in London for football not also have to wear masks when they are indoors? On public transport to get to the match? In bars and restaurants? In hotel shared spaces? In cabs?

KatherineJaneway · 29/06/2021 15:54

I thought you were saying you were sick of kids in the UK!

Yaykyay · 29/06/2021 15:56

Ffs

This again. Why do you think kids have it so much worse?

Lweji · 29/06/2021 15:58

Are you saying you don't want children to wear masks, or that you don't think people should be allowed to flock to London?

readingismycardio · 29/06/2021 15:59

OP, children adapt SO MUCH BETTER than adults.

Anonymous48 · 29/06/2021 16:28

Of course they should wear masks. They haven't had a chance to be vaccinated yet.

flumposie · 29/06/2021 16:33

It is running rife again in schools so yabu

nah, it's just boring when you've muted a thread topic for it to show up anyway. HTH

You can also hide the thread, instead of posting on it to have it on Watch and I'm on. Grin

YABU

This has been done to death over the last year, lots of groups of people have had a horrible time of it, not just kids.

ViciousJackdaw · 29/06/2021 16:37

What would you like to happen OP?

As you know, the Delta variant is having a ball right now. That means the choices are either wear masks or close the schools. You could homeschool, of course.

Mask wearing isn't really a hardship, is it? Some DC wear dirty clothes or things with holes in them. Others might have no choice but to wear well-trodden hand me down shoes. Why not get aeriated about that instead?

BoredatHome321 · 29/06/2021 16:39

@Lweji just also find it interesting how Wimbledon was packed yesterday but it's just football that's the problem. But again, it's been done to death.

YouLookSoCool · 29/06/2021 16:41

I didn't think kids had to wear masks in schools any more? Is it still compulsory in some places? (Misses point of thread)

MrsJuliaGulia · 29/06/2021 16:45

yes I'm sitting here watching the crowds at Wimbledon and yet I can't go and watch the DCs sports day outdoors. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Incidentally I have no problem with the football, Ascot, Wimbledon etc but I would love to know the rationale for why parents can't attend their childrens sports day.

Exactly!

tonystarksrighthand · 29/06/2021 16:59

@Anonymous48

Of course they should wear masks. They haven't had a chance to be vaccinated yet.

But they can still catch it and pass it on so what's the point?
