To think mastitis is hell on earth (and ask for tips)

I've had mastitis since Friday. On antibiotics, changed to a different one yesterday as the first made me violently ill. I cannot clear this bloody blockage, I've fed and fed on that side, pumped, dangle fed, got the baby into all sorts of stupid positions, had umpteen hot baths and showers, massaged, hand expressed, hot compresses, even put an electric toothbrush on there and I can't shift the bastard thing.

My boob is so sore and I feel so ill. Any lesser known tips I could try?

Ooo ouch OP. I’m sorry I have no tips.
Cabbage leaves are supposed to be good though

I had mastitis and I still remember having a bath and milk suddenly pissing out in the water. Helped though

I can't remember if it worked but I recall out of desperation dragging a wide toothed comb over the area with the blockage.

Disposable nappy filled with warm water and wrapped around the boob. Keeps in the warmth and can replace when it's cool.

Bag of marbles massage - cup whole boob in both hands and sort of jiggle it about, passing the weight of the boob from one hand to another

Vibrator

Sunflower lecithin supplements - article on Kellymom.com- efficacy mostly anecdotal

If nothing works it's worth considering a galactocele or even an abscess. These are trickier to treat and will need medical intervention.

How do you feel in yourself?

Some things to try, thank you! @FakeFruitShoot not as bad as Friday, but still have a temperature on and off. Haven't been taking the new antibiotics for 24 hours yet though

Glad you're feeling a bit better. Your baby is the best tool you have ... great to hear you've been confident (desperate?!) enough to try a range of positions.
