Going back to a not great hairdresser because parking is easy there....

AIBU? There are other salons with probably better hairdressers I could try but they are in towns/villages with real parking issues (I live semi-rurally). This one is 10 minutes drive and has a huge free village carpark. But the cut is a bit dodge but I could live with it.

I seem to have reached that point in life where comfort / ease is starting to punch other considerations out of the way. I just don't have the energy. When I lived in London in my 20s I would think nothing of an hour's cross town journey to go to a hairdresser that I really liked.

I'm 49 now. What's next? K shoe sandals?

Is this sort of ease/comfort based re-prioritization normal at this age? Tell me yours to make me feel better Grin

Cycle?

Factor the price for parking into the cut. I m not really sure what your question is. Shit hair or not shit hair?

BrilliantBetty · 26/06/2021 22:25

No. Have a good cut. It makes a big difference to a persons overall appearance.

The parking situation is a bit of a pain, but even so. It's not very often you'll have to do it.

Taxi?

Yes, I do things like this all the time. And I actually do go to a not great hairdresser because of the easy parking and can book it online without all the faff of speaking to someone.

Can't say I recommend it though. My hair looks like shit.

Think I'm going to make the effort to go somewhere better next time!

No.
My hair is important to me and I'd feel very undermined if I got a bad haircut.

Buy some decent hairdressing scissors online and YouTube cutting your own hair. It was much easier than I expected, with much better results! Don't cut too much the first time and if you much it up you can always go and get a pro cut.

Yanbu, but could you pay petrol money/owe a favour to a loved one that could kindly drop you off and pick you up? I do this all the time for my mother (although she wouldn’t pay me even if I requested it!).
