Posting in here for traffic.

Can anyone tell me if you can check Internet history on a Virgin router and if it shows up which apps have been accessed on a mobile? I have tried googling the answer and its a mixed response some people are saying you can check and others saying that it's not possible as the router doesn't store that kind of information

I'm 99.9% sure this won't be possible.

Penners99 · 26/06/2021 15:28

Nope, not possible

jimmyhill · 26/06/2021 15:39

No not possible. But you could capture that kind of info by installing a Pi-hole and configuring the devices in the house too use it as their DNS server.

This.

Virgin may have the information, but almost certainly wont give it to you. The router will not store this in any meaningful way, a skilled engineer might be able to dump the memory in real-time but you'd get a limited snap shot.

The best way as jimmhill said is to install a device that sits between the router and the internet that records all the traffic.

Bear in mind, you'll' probably just get a load of IP addresses and routing data and have to do some detective work to suss out what each address correpsonds to.

No I don’t think so.

Are you worried that someone can access your internet history?

Thirstquenching · 26/06/2021 16:01

Thank you everyone. Not my history my sons friend who was over at my house. He was signed into my wifi with his phone and my son has told me he was looking at things that he shouldn't have been
