Working from home

Ok so we're all probably a bit sick of working from home now Grin

I'm enjoying it but also miss aspects of being in the office, I can't wait to have a hybrid approach. Anyway my AIBU is to ask a question, do your colleagues and members of your team/manager still do the pleasantries like "have a nice weekend" "how was your weekend" etc?

I'm finding my manager has stopped all of that now and she's just coming across miserable and snappy. I can't work out if it's just wfh fatigue or if she's actually pissed off with me!

I think you need to make more effort with the small talk when you're virtual or you're really feeling like you're alone and not part of a team.

Aibu to expect some effort?!

We still do the how was your weekend etc small talk, but we're permanent wfh now, not hybrid so it's pretty important to keep it going.

Oh yes we still swap those pleasantries in the same way. We probably talk to each other just as much as if we were in the office

My old team did and had two short social calls a week to chat. My new team is downright miserable and no one ever asks how weekend/evening was (have tried asking but no response) or really responded to anything. We have a chat channel but it solely consists of people saying they've started work and when they've finished! Can't wait to find different job...

We're actually perm from home now but I will have 1 day per fortnight and I can't wait for that.

@RidingMyBike that's sounds pretty miserable and same as me at the moment Sad I literally feel like I work my arse off but it's not being noticed or even cared about. It's weird as it never used to be like this!

Still ask how people's weekends/annual leave were here...and in recent weeks we've actually started to be able to say "oh actually it was lovely, I did XYZ" rather than "it was nice not to be working"!
