To wonder whether holiday clubs are allowed to run?

Are they waiting for the update from Boris? I contacted a couple of them a week or so ago and they said they were planning to run and would post an update at some point but it's 3 weeks until the holidays start and I'm getting panicked!

(Was going to post in childcare but it seemingly gets barely any traffic)

Ours are all running, afaik they're allowed?!

Mumdiva99 · 25/06/2021 09:55

There have been specific guidelines on running after school clubs since last summer. Or are you in a super high risk area and they mean they are waiting to see what happens? All the summer clubs in our area have been advertising for a while.

majesticallyawkward · 25/06/2021 09:55

I believe they are in England at least but it's down to the provider on whether they can do so safely.

My dc is going to one at a school and one at her dance school (2 separate weeks in our attempt to manage holidays) there is another at a different school that is planned to be mainly outdoor sports with some swimming. But, things like rainbows and brownies still aren't running because they aren't confident they can operate safely.

Yes they are allowed to run but there are restrictions, with limits of how many children can attend and bubble systems in place. For some holiday clubs this means that it's not financially viable, which might be why they are waiting to see if there is a further easing of restrictions.

Covid numbers in my area If England are currently 21 per 100k and my daughter has been doing dancing/swimming/brownies every week but holiday clubs are being very vague, which is really hard when there are only 3 weeks to go, I don't know what I'm going to do!

I've had my DC booked into holiday clubs for a few weeks. Barracudas, Fun Fest etc. are running, as are the local sports camps.

BlowDryRat · 25/06/2021 10:08

Whereabouts are you OP?

Manteo · 25/06/2021 10:09

Kent

Dc3 is working at one and had a job offer from another so as far as I can see they are running.

Very similar here, I rang the football company that normally does holiday club, & they said they are hoping to be able to let parents know in the next week. Kids break up in 3 weeks time! I've been able to find one provider running - that is fully booked Confused

I keep getting ads for Barracudas on my FB, they don't run in my area.

ToffeePennie · 25/06/2021 10:14

Our ones are. So far i have my son booked into a science club, outdoor adventure club, nursery holiday club and football club.
I’m waiting to hear back from a couple of others.

BlowDryRat · 25/06/2021 10:25

There's Barracudas, Manor House Forest School, All4Kids, The Hive, SuperCamps, Venture Camps all running in Kent.

DistrictCommissioner · 25/06/2021 10:31

BlowDryRat can you find me what's running in north Devon please? Grin

BlowDryRat · 25/06/2021 10:37

Grin Sure. Here's a good link: www.familiesonline.co.uk/local/north-devon/school-holiday-camps

Whitewolf2 · 25/06/2021 10:47

Ours are all running in Cambridgeshire.

LadyDanburysHat · 25/06/2021 10:49

Most schools have already broken up in Scotland, and ours a definitely all running.

PeterPomegranate · 25/06/2021 10:51

I’ve booked places for my children (London). They ran last summer and October half term too. Don’t know about Christmas and Easter because I didn’t use them.

Thanks - still only two possible providers! One of which is the one that is fully booked for when I need. I will try the other one.

Coldilox · 25/06/2021 11:03

My DS has been in holiday club every holiday since last summer, and is booked in for this summer
