I have to force everything, it all seems like a chore.

I have a play date with toddler Dd this afternoon, I organised it, I don’t really want to go most times, but I organise it. Birthday party for one of her friends tomorrow, don’t really want to go, but I’ll force myself to.
Why am I like this, why can’t I look forward to these things and enjoy going?
Is it normal that when you have a child, life seems like a huge tick list of things to get done? I remember when I used to go out to socialise, because I wanted fo, because it was fun 🤷🏻‍♀️Is it just me and I’m a miserable sod 🙈

I think as you get older, life just becomes more like that as you pick up more responsibilities and commitments, regardless of whether you’ve got children or not.

Those social events you’re talking about are socialising for the kids, not the adults. I’m guessing if you were meeting a friend for coffee no kids that might be more of something you might look forward to?
