To ask what the London Underground is like these days?

I'm going to London soon. I'm doubly vaccinated, will be getting the train there and am not too worried about the risks of catching Covid on my trip generally but the one thing I am concerned about is the tube. My memories of it (pre-Covid) were that is was always very crowded and of course unventilated. How busy is it these days? I've found contradictory information online about how safe or not it is (re Covid transmission) but would be interested in hearing the experiences and views of people who have used it recently.

Pretty normal in my experience - certain routes aren't quite so busy as they were (eg Canary Wharf) but I've been aware of lots of tourists when I've been on it recently and it's been quite busy, especially at the weekends

I go work once a week and its getting busier but still not packed, majority are wearing masks.
It doesnt feel that unsafe. It was far worse in the early days and i never caught it

bruffin · 24/06/2021 19:49

Forgot to say, i use victoria line, which was always heaving

Lisyloo725 · 24/06/2021 19:50

I went this week for the first time since this whole thing, and felt on the borderline of ok. I’m pregnant and unvaccinated. Ppl seemed to be spacing and not using all the seats in favour of distancing which was good. I used the Victoria and Piccadilly lines to go from Vauxhall to Knightsbridge at about 8:30-9:15am ish. On a Tuesday. X

It's absolutely fine. Feels very safe. not like rush hour feb 2020

CabernetSoWhat · 24/06/2021 19:51

Still less busy than pre-Covid. I've got a seat about 75% of the time. Seen it both packed and empty in the last month, depending on the time of day.

FizzyPink · 24/06/2021 19:52

Still less busy than pre-Covid but the main tube lines are busy at rush hour. The Jubilee going into town at 9am for example.

Spidey66 · 24/06/2021 19:55

It's fine. Less busy than pre pandemic, though busier of late.

The vast majority of people are complying with covid regulations around mask wearing and social distancing when possible.

used the central line on Friday afternoon / evening. It was a joy -usually horrendously busy (travelling at 5pm), but had a seat both ways and still lots of seats free and no one standing. Travelled into Oxford Circus station which was very quiet

newnortherner111 · 24/06/2021 20:01

Only ever travelled at weekends (last two weekends ago), has been much quieter and apparently around half normal numbers.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 24/06/2021 20:06

It's so much better than usual, although busier each day.

MyShoelaceIsUndone · 24/06/2021 20:20

Rush hour hot, crowded
Other times hot

thelonggame · 24/06/2021 20:26

I was on Victoria Line this lunchtime from Vauxhall to Kingscross and it was really quiet less than half the seats occupied.
