Is it normal to have a sore cervix?

Just wondering if it's normal for cervix to hurt when having deep sex? Sorry if TMI.

But when DH and I are in certain positions it really hurts. It's always been this way but just wondering if that's normal?

Yes, it's sensitive and can bruise/bleed, especially if you have a condition called ectropian cervix, where endometrial cells grow through the opening and onto the outer cervical surface.

Please go and get a smear/ internal examination
I had this afew years back and they found fibroids and I underwent colposcopy to remove the abnormal cells which If left, potentially could have become cancerous so please please please get it checked x

The cervix moves throughout the month. If we have sex at certain times, it's definitely more painful if it's low down and he "bumps" into it.

Well jel (long term single 😂)

VanGoghsDog · 22/06/2021 09:32

Yes, mine hurts in some positions, or if it moves and gets in the way.

proudwomansexmatters · 22/06/2021 09:32

My womb tilts backwards and there are certain positions that I can't do without pain.

Peace43 · 22/06/2021 09:46

yep perfectly normal

Porridgeislife · 22/06/2021 09:47

It’s not normal. It can be a sign of endometriosis amongst other things.

Trinacham · 22/06/2021 09:56

Normal for me. I wouldn't say it hurts as such but feels uncomfortable when he goes deep.

Happinesscomesfromwithin · 22/06/2021 11:57

@proudwomensexmatters I have a tilted cervix too. The gynecologist always has problems searching for it (very awkward lol).

Normal for me. My DH is rather large and it hurts if he's too...erm...enthusiastic. Been with him 12 years and had 3 smears and a baby in that time so I'm sure someone would have noticed an issue if there was one.

But if it's not normal for you then I'd get checked out.

Einszwei · 22/06/2021 15:33

Yes. I sometimes get cramping after a heavy session if my cervix has been bruised during deep sex.
