To not go on this date?

Started speaking to a guy online. Seems nice enough. He gave me his surname so I looked on Facebook and god forgive me but I dont find his pictures overly attractive and he doesnt really look like my type of person. I feel really judgemental but I'm thinking of swerving the date. Am I awful?

If he's nice though you might like him and get to thinking he's attractive? Least that's what happens to me. Once I like someone, I think they're attractive.

perhaps he’s just very unphotogenic my Step Mum always looks awful in pictures but she is beautiful in real life.

My DH wasn't my "type" , got to know him and I'm very attracted to him now.

Why didn’t you get to see pictures in the first place?

I wouldn't just stand someone up - that seems pretty mean. You could cancel though.

It’s not shallow to want to be attracted to someone, it’s a basic!

Don’t go if you don’t want to. You don’t owe him anything.

I wouldn't write someone off just on photos though.

I chatted to a guy for ages. He had average pics but was really easy to communicate with so I went to meet him. He was SO much better looking in the flesh that I was actually blown away. Don't shoot yourself in the foot. It's only one date. What's the worst that can happen? I'd go!

You’re not awful (only you know who you’re attracted to) but it might be worth meeting him just to make sure you’re not missing out if it could go either way. However, if you see the photos and think “no way” then just move on.
