To wonder if I’m imagining it?

Outbreak of nits last week. Child in question has had their head very close/touching mine on numerous occasions.

I have checked my head with the nit comb when wet and it was totally clear as well as getting dp to check with a bright light several times. Nothing.

But it feels like there is lice crawling on my scalp and my head is itchy. Is it all in my head?

Or is it possible that the lice and eggs have managed to evade several visual checks and a nit comb?

When I got them once before, the eggs were so visible when checking and lots came out with the comb.

Anyone else been in a similar position?

Yes, I think once you start imagining it, it feels v real. I kept feeling them and then checking and never found any. In the end, I forgot about it and the feeling of them crawling around went away. V strange though.

I immediately start itching whenever there's talk of nits. I'm doing it now! I think it's just our minds playing tricks on us.

Yes its psychological, someone just needs to mention them and I'm scratching (like now)
