It's on a vintage print that I really like...I know or think the first name is James...but what's the surname? It's doing my head in!

Not either of those. I think that because it's a print...that the artist likely had some common popularity in the 70s...it's marked "73" and so thought that there might be other posters/prints by him so I'm googling possible names plus "Artist" and "vintage print 73" but nothing is coming up.

It's some trees...bare winter ones...against a full moon. VERY 70s, not to everyone's taste but I love it.

DD also saw a B but not sure how...it looks like a P to me. There's no bottom 'bump'

If you have a few hours look at artistssignatures.com. I started looking through the pages starting with 'J' (for James) but got fed up after 4 pages! Not for the faint-hearted!

The first word looks like Jana (female name central and Eastern Europe). There are few paintress named Jana, but I can make up the surname.

You have to sign up for a free account to use it, but you can use artistssignatures.com/ to reverse search for an artist’s signature. This is useful if you think you can read the signature (or at least have a close guess) but want to double-check to make sure you aren’t misreading it. Maybe that will help?

Well no...that would be if it were a proper print. It's more of a poster on board. There were a lot more than that made I'm sure.
