Oh dear

SticksAndStoned · 19/06/2021 20:55

While I'm not a fan of Stockwell, Aldi and Lidl do ketchup that is better than Heinz. For one thing, you don't get that horrible watery bit. And they taste great.

Heinz is expensive and mediocre.

SticksAndStoned · 19/06/2021 20:56

*relatively expensive.

At least it's not "Daddies Tomato Ketchup" (do they still make it?) which is (was) the vilest thing ever to come out of a sauce bottle.

Lol, turns out that delete button doesn't work 😂
CustardCreamm · 19/06/2021 21:01

Haha I'd divorce my husband if he bought that! Grin

atracurious · 19/06/2021 21:01

The bottles are probably of better quality than the awful flimsy Heinz ones recently!

seepingweeping · 19/06/2021 21:01

My kids love that ketchup. They hate Heinz and the Aldi one

RightOnTheEdge · 19/06/2021 21:05

Daddy's was terrible!
I thought I would never tolerate any ketchup but Heinz but actually I usually get supermarket own brand now and I like it. Like a pp said, you don't seem to get that runny watery stuff like you do with Heinz.
I've never tried the Stockwell one though.

powershowerforanhour · 19/06/2021 21:06

If you ever want to annoy a Kiwi, tell them that Wattie's is not as good as Heinz tomato ketchup. (Oh and the amazing TimTams they insist you try are just slighty crappy Penguins).

thecatsatonthewall · 19/06/2021 21:06

Tescos own brand 50% less salt an sugar is tasty and v cheap!

Heinz is awful.

LoopTheLoops · 19/06/2021 21:06

I don’t buy this one but I buy the next one up from Tesco’s and the kids never complain, I don’t eat ketchup myself

PinkPomeranian · 19/06/2021 21:12

Hmm, I'm wiling to try other brands but this stuff was awful. We seem to have two more bottles sitting in front of the pantry (couldn't open the door to put them away, of course) so I'm holding out hope that there was a substitution. He's a lovely husband so it'd be a shame to have to kick him out!

I was literally just about to post that.

It's lovely. M&S own brand (60p) is not half bad.

Heinz is is bad in comparison.

LTB you can't go back OP run, run away Grin

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/06/2021 21:33

I generally get Morrisons own now, its fine.

Youdoyoutoday · 19/06/2021 21:36

40 years I was a heinz girl through and through...... then I went shopping at aldi.... it tastes the bloody same!!!

NotTheCatsWhiskers · 19/06/2021 21:41

I thought Morrison’s own was the worst ketchup I’ve tried.

I get Tesco’s low sugar/salt ketchup, the kids smother it on everything so they’re not fussed!

tillytoodles1 · 19/06/2021 21:43

I hate ketchup.

Mum2jenny · 19/06/2021 21:43

I like Hellmans tomato sauce

AdaFuckingShelby · 19/06/2021 21:46

I bought some Daddies recently in a flash of nostalgia. Kids hated it.

DentonsFringeArnottsWaistcoat · 19/06/2021 21:46

Yep, Tiptree is the best. And their spicy brown sauce too. Have you noticed they all have a lovely strip of paper dealing them that says Finished by Carol, or Linda etc? Love it.

Hankunamatata · 19/06/2021 21:46

Asda own brand all the way - it converted me from Heinz
