Ott Facebook groups

Does anyone else find Facebook groups are so strict and ott with rules? I’m on a Facebook group and a woman made a post about how she has no friends, but the rules of the group are no PMing, so inevitably loads of comments offering to PM and meet up with the op, then admin steps in and says no PMing, so I commented asking why they allow posts like that if no one is allowed to PM which always happens on these types of posts and I have now been banned from commenting for 3 days 😂 anyone else experience really ott Facebook groups?

By the way I didn’t offer to PM so that’s not why I was banned from commenting.

One of the reasons that I don't do Facebook.
It sucks people in, they get over invested then shit happens.

And this inside of the many many reasons that most of there are shite and I wouldn't waste my time with them.

God yeah, FB pages are such hotbeds of melodrama it makes me laugh how seriously people take them!

There was a ‘friend’ facebook page made up because of a post on here about not having friends.
Loads of people asked to join.

The two ‘admins / Creators’
Had no time for it,
Never replied to any posts and moaned when the thread on here got re opened back up afew months later and alot more ladies wanted to join the group , i put the fb link in and the admin/ craters moaned as i had put the link, when i said i had put the link up as that was the point of the facebook group, i was blocked 🤷🏻‍♀️

Is Facebook really for adults? All the crap I hear about it I think not.

That group does sound like it hasn't made up its mind what is and isn't allowed, however, none of the many FB groups I belong to is like that, so YWBU to lump all FB together as some posters have.

The worst FB groups are those with no rules - just complete shitshows

I've been adminning and moderating for years, since the days of usenet and email groups. The rules are harsh because it works - otherwise there's mayhem, cliques, flaming, power struggles, spamming - you name it.

Most groups will include a rule about how the word of the admins/mods is law. That will probably be the one you fell foul of.

Very admins/mods begin by being really strict. The good ones always end up being.

I’m not sure how ASKING a question leads to banning comments for 3 days though! I wasn’t rude, the funny thing is pming was allowed when I first joined but at some point they’ve changed that however they didn’t explain the reasons so I’m guessing something happened!
