Dh manages a rugby team.

They've got an end of season awards night arranged next weekend.

There's 25/30 going, they've got a range of jobs from teachers, police officer, shop workers etc.

They've booked a function room at a hotel for meal and drinks, the room has no windows that open.

They claim because they're sitting 6 to a table that they're not breaking any rules, despite all meeting together and all going out after.

I'm not happy with this, there are rules still in place and it feels like they're being bent to make sure their night isn't ruined.

I'll say covid does make me anxious but I expected this to be rearranged after Boris' announcement this week. Dh is refusing.

Cases have doubled in our area for the last 3 weeks. We know 2 people personally who have been confirmed positive in the last day so it feels very close this time.

Aibu to think it should be delayed until they've been vaccinated or cases are much lower?

If they are sitting 6 to a table and adhering to the venue Covid measures then I can't see the problem. I can't comment on their plans for afterwards as you don't say what they are going to be doing.

The hotel is in our nearest city so they're going for a night out in the bars etc.

I just think it's an unnecessary and frivolous risk when 3 out of 4 of our parents are CEV. Whilst they've had their vaccines it's still the fact that not everyone is protected by these and we're only just starting to get to see them properly again.

They will struggle to get in to bars if they haven't booked. If they have sorted it out then fair play to them.
