To be worried about the future of the NHS/free healthcare...

Dido 'test and trace' Harding wants to be the new NHS Chief. Not content with blowing our money (BILLIONS?!) on a failed covid tracking system she now wants to try her hand at running our healthcare system. Yes I think she will be shooed in by hook or by crook by our current Tory shitshow government.
Her husband wants to 'reform' the NHS and this is no secret.
Free healthcare is screwed isn't it? It will be like UK dental care in the next ten or twenty years I reckon...

It is not Free. It is free at point of access

Most of us pay through our tax

Sirzy · 18/06/2021 13:38

She shouldn’t be allowed near anything even vaguely important let alone the nhs

goldfinchfan · 18/06/2021 13:39

If the Harding takes charge then yes it will finish off Healthcare for all.

The NHS is not free. And patient experience and access is dire compared with many other health care systems. I have yet to meet anyone who has experienced health care in other northern European countries who has a good word to say about the NHS. Wholescale reform is long overdue.

That may be true, but would you trust any of this government to do anything but asset strip everything while giving their mates( Matt Hancock's pub landlord) lucrative contracts. Patient care wouldn't be any sort of priority.

That story has been trashed so many times, it's hilarious how many MN's still trot it out.

The NHS desparately needs reform. However I would not support Dido Harding being the next Head of the NHS.

If you want to see what's planned for the NHS in the future, just go read NHS Long Term Plan. They are not going to asset strip anything, they are not going to sell it off, they are not going to charge for healthcare. What they might do is use more services from other providers for basic healthcare, including charities, which will free up time and pressure for the NHS to do what it does well, which is concentrate on critical care and providing new improved treatments and drugs.

Were you worried when war4 criminal Blair introduced PFI into the NHS? If not, why not?

newnortherner111 · 18/06/2021 15:14

I would not want Dido Harding running my local cafe, even the one I never set foot in. Never mind the NHS.

mybrainhertz · 18/06/2021 16:17

I worry about the NHS regardless of who's running it. I wouldn't expect to receive even adequate care were something to happen to me or my family as it stands. I dread become ill and ending up at the hospital.
