Though this is not the ideal position I would like to go to, still feel low when messed up the interview. Don't know where the future direction is

When things are right and meant to happen, everything just falls into place midnight.
If you don't get this job,it's because it wasn't the one for you.
Your direction is what feels right, what makes you happy, what keeps you interested.
There is a whole world out there, this was just one interview in a whole lifetime,a drop in the ocean.
List what you want and how you want to achieve it and start there.🌈

Have you had the outcome yet?

If not, I don't mean to give you false hope if you know it went tits up but it's not over until it's over. I really made a pigs ear of the interview questions for the job I'm in (was in the middle of having covid) but they liked me and liked what they saw on my CV so gave me a chance.

If so, then chin up, take a mental note of the questions and how you would answer better next time, and move on. It's all good experience Cake

KarmaStar, thanks a lot for your words, very reassuring. I graduated from a top university and felt like I have wasted a long time in my career path. Now I am over 40, and feel the mid-life crisis is everywhere. I don't particularly want to go on the career path I am following at the moment, but it seems that it's too late to make a u turn.
