Feeling angry - sertraline withdrawal?

I’m tapering off Sertraline - I’ve been on 25mg - this is the third week.

I’m feeling angry a lot. Everyone is annoying me all the time.

Is this the withdrawal? Is this a sign I’m not ready to come off?

I’m in such a bad mood - I’m just angry almost all evening every day.

What does your GP say?

I’ve not spoken to them yet. I’ve only noticed the anger since the weekend.

They told me to taper down to 25mg a day for a month.

That happened to me too. I tapered off mine but was getting worryingly angry and didn't even recognise myself at times. The smallest things made me blow up. I was not pleasant to be around.

Happens to me as well, OP. I’ve been taking them (150mg-200mg) on and off for about 12 years now and I actually find the effects much worse when I stop at 25mg/25mg on alternate days than when I stop ‘cold turkey’ at 50mg.

Definitely speak to your GP. It does get easier though and it’s worth it for the sense of ‘achievement’ at the end❤️

I really would like to come off - it’s been 2 years for PND and I feel like I’m ready but this week has been a bit off.

I’ll call my GP tomorrow and see what she says.

I was very angry. The next time I needed something I asked for a different one because of it. (although I got paroxetine and that was worse!)

I’ve not been angry in the two years I’ve taken it. Well, not inexplicably so. It’s just coming off.

I'm currently weaning off of Sertraline and have definitely had more mood swings. I've also had very weird "brain zaps" where I suddenly feel like my brain has snapped to attention. Very odd feeling.

Sorry I should have said when I was tapering off it. Not angry on it!

Speak to your GP and hope you feel better soon OP. My first signs of depression starting back is anger...however, different for everyone so please speak to professional.
