If you are a primary school teaching assistant or similar, do you enjoy your job?

If so, what do you enjoy most about it?
If not, why?

I love it, I get to do all the good bits, without all the stress of planning, marking, hitting targets etc that a teacher has.

I love seeing children improve and gain in confidence, especially when I do 1-1.

I retrained to do this 3 years ago, leaving behind a highly stressful and unforgiving role, which paid more than double what I earn now. I wish I'd done it sooner.

I love it because it's so varied and rewarding. I have good relationships with the children and want the best for them.

I hate the politics,bullshit and most things involving other adults.

I love the kids, the relationships and bonds we form, their jokes, the lightbulb moments, the progress, their stories .

I'm with pp. It's like all the good bits of teaching, without the paperwork and long hours.
