Trying to cancel carers allowance.

Is it possible ?

I've gone online (twice) filled in their *ing form (with email receipt back from them to prove it) and submitted last two payslips as they ask.

They are still paying it.

I did try to call them. 4 times. I had to give up when the waiting time used up my lunch break at work (ironically tyhe reason I'm cancelling it).

Who else is getting free money from DWP ?

AIBU to say if this is how hard it is to cancel benefits then I humbly suggest most fraud is just DWP incompetence ?

We had this, dh did it online to cancel, and we got paid. So he phoned them and they said we are really busy and prioritising new claims

It's madness isn't it? They spend so much time and effort recouping overpayments, you'd think it would be in their own interests to make it possible to cancel easily!

I cancelled mine once and it was an absolutely nightmare to re-start. I called, submitted an online form and spent several hours of my life waiting to n a call queue.
