Tested Monday, how long have you waited for result

I was covid tested on Monday.
Symptoms sore throat, mild cough, blocked nose, temperature although that has now gone. General fluey feeling.
Still waiting for result.

Just wondering if anyone else is waiting.

I might seem impatient but I have had many tests and all have come through in less than 24 hours.

No wonder it's spreading: how are entire households managing to self isolate when waiting for a result for days if they have shift work or zero hours contracts etc.

I was tested Monday at 11:45am and has the results back Tuesday 2:30am so really fast. It might be worth calling the number on the test receipt card to chase your results. I had to do this with my daughters test a few months ago and it turns out there was an issue with the paperwork which meant we would have never received the result if I hadn’t chased it up.

Usually within 24 hours but can be up to 72.

Our household did postal PCR’s on Monday afternoon and received our results by email this morning

I have no idea how you want the voting to work as there doesn't seem to be a question but if you go to the dedicated covid topic there are loads of threads asking this.

If knowing how long other tests take is useful that's the place to be Smile

We got tested Monday morning, got results 11pm. But it varies so much - how busy the test centre is, how far it is from the lab where they analyse, etc.

It's very frustrating isn't it OP. I had mine yesterday afternoon and still waiting. It nearly 24 hours now. I'm a teacher so the school are desperate to know. I don't have symptoms but I've been a close contact. I also have been reading of v fast turn around of results so I'm miffed!

That's frustrating OP. I tested toddler DD yesterday at 11am and got the results this morning (less than 24h later. Negative thankfully!). Hope you get them soon.

Tested 30th December.... Still waiting for the results Grin

Hothammock · 16/06/2021 14:29

Thanks for the sympathies. I know this is a rubbish aibu.
The people Staffing the test centre said I was the only person for the entire morning who had come in to be tested and that they are quiet most days. So I can't believe it's a capacity issue and have a bad feeling the test is lost.
Do I then do another one or if my symptoms are gone do I leave it. I don't feel ill enough to think its covid anymore...
The lateral flow tests I have been doing are negative.

We ordered tests last Tuesday. They arrived Thursday. We sent them back the same day.

We got one result yesterday (Tuesday) and the other today. Today is day 10 of our isolation anyway so the tests were pointless.

I won't bother next time we have a temperature, and I know it's a bug, it's been a nightmare the kids having to be off school for no reason.

blackcurrantqueen · 16/06/2021 15:03

You can call 119 now to chase 72 hours after your test

user1471530109 · 16/06/2021 16:02

OP, I've just received mine-negative Smile.

I'd wait until tomorrow morning and ring 119. You should have been given a registration card with a code on Flowers
