Finding a bikini!

KiteFlier1968 · 16/06/2021 12:05

Am I being unreasonable to think that it's nigh impossible to find a decent bikini these days?

Several shops I've been into have racks of tops or bottoms but nothing matching, and never in my size!

I looked at some swimwear websites and they were around £200 +.

Can anyone suggest a decent place / website to buy a bikini set from?

Thanks :)

Try the Style and Beauty forum OP.

I struggled for years but discovered the bra sized bikini - and there's no going back. Floozie at Debenhams bra sized ones are great - I could literally run in it. I saw some in M&S that looked nice too.

I found the only bikini top that has ever properly fitted me from Freya - try bra companies. They had bottoms too but I got some cheaper high waisted plain ones from Sainsbury's as they covered my stomach more!

DaphneMoonsSeattle · 16/06/2021 14:28

I got some really lovely ones from Shein.

Frymetothemoon · 16/06/2021 14:33

I got a great one last year from a brand called Beachlife. Liked it so much I bought a second one in a different colour

shivawn · 16/06/2021 14:37

I love bikinis, buy them year round and own a rediculous amount of them! Cupshe and Seafolly are my favourite brands, rarely go wrong with them!

PawsQueen · 16/06/2021 14:41

What size are you? As in bra size? That will probably affect where you can buy!
I like brastop

KiteFlier1968 · 16/06/2021 14:48

Thanks for the recommendations everyone :)
I'm a 32F so usually buy Freya bras.
I'll try the recommended sites - good old MN, you can always rely on help.

Don't forget the standby bravissimo I've had some lovely ones over the years, and I'm 36FF.

If you know your size and what suits you, you can get good brand names such as Roxy, O'Neill and Billabong from eBay at sensible prices. New separates can be had for around £10. I bought some ASOS bottoms last week for £5 with tags and labels still attached.

It does help that I prefer the simple tie/triangle style so cut is less of an issue.

Pour Moi is good for sizing & different styles of tops and bottoms.
I will be getting my next bikini from there when we can finally go abroad again 🤩

lurker101 · 16/06/2021 15:50

Have you tried Bravissimo? They usually have a great selection in bra sizes, it’s where I buy most of mine

Seeline · 16/06/2021 15:52

HAve a look on Brastop - they often have good reductions

Naggety · 16/06/2021 15:55

I don't like Marks and Spencers in general but I have always found swimwear I like there.

Justmuddlingalong · 16/06/2021 15:55

Pour moi. They sometimes have great deals on Amazon.

TeensArghh · 16/06/2021 15:59

I’ve just picked up a bikini in Matalan. The top is sized rather than generic size 12. It fits perfectly 😊

PussGirl · 16/06/2021 16:18

I've had a great one from La Senza with a removable halter neck strap, a bandeau top that neither fell off nor squashed my boobs into a weird shape, and matching flattering briefs, all in a nice bright stripy fabric - this was about 5 years ago though

VeganCheesePlease · 16/06/2021 16:19

I got a lovely one out of Ann Summers and its actually quite modest and covers quite a lot but it's really pretty too.

Defiantly41 · 16/06/2021 16:25

Try Figleaves at Simply Be - over 40 bikinis in 32F here www.simplybe.co.uk/shop/c/figleaves-swimwear-bikinis/f/Back%20Size--32/Cup%20Size--F/?sort=Lowest%20Price&nofollowind=true

LondonGal76 · 16/06/2021 16:44

I was going to suggest maxcleavage.com, but then saw that you're a 32F...

VapeVamp12 · 16/06/2021 16:46

I recently got a really nice Magisculpt one. It's quite plain but they're high waisted bottoms and a nice supportive bra like top.

First bikini I have bought in my life! (recently lost some weight)

madaboutrunning · 16/06/2021 16:47

Esprit have a good selection with tops and bottoms available separately and different styles of both in each fabric. They are great quality too. They are my go-to for bikinis www.esprit.co.uk/womenswear/swimwear
