To still go on holiday?

Due to go away in a couple of weeks, with 2 friends and DCs (all teens).
Due to share a house.
Each parent and child would have own room.

Given that the rules are 2 households allowed overnight, AIBU to go ahead.

Back story is that we have rescheduled twice already and the cost has gone up every time. We can’t afford to pay any more.

Yes YABU as three households is against the rules. The venue should be checking compliance though like hotels did.

hamsterchump · 14/06/2021 20:13

I would, just be prepared to lie about being two households if they ask, which they most likely won't.

Mum2jenny · 14/06/2021 20:16

I’d lie too

MatildaTheCat · 14/06/2021 20:17

What’s the total number of people? Six is allowed anyway.

We are going to a large property next week and with some creative thinking I believe we are actually compliant with the rules but it’s a bloody pain.

Cryalot2 · 14/06/2021 20:17

Have a good time .

ThatsMeInTheCornerThere · 14/06/2021 20:18

Yes I would
Definitely still go but like others have said lie about 2 households just in case

Lostinacloud · 14/06/2021 20:28

100% go ahead, too much time has been wasted already, it’s time to live again.

Coldwine75 · 14/06/2021 20:29

Go ahead and enjoy

LadyCatStark · 14/06/2021 20:29

Go for it, two of you may have to be a “couple” 😂.

WettyHainthrop · 14/06/2021 20:32

Ugh, fuck it. Two or three households, I bet it would make precisely fuck all difference.

Have a great time, OP.

Donatella · 14/06/2021 20:35

If its 6 people you are within the rules anyway. If not, then I can't imagine anyone is going to get too worked up about it

chocolatesaltyballs22 · 14/06/2021 20:36

Just go - why should people's plans be fucked up any longer.

moynomore · 14/06/2021 20:37

Just lie.

Szboox · 14/06/2021 20:39

Go for it! We are doing similar. Will all take LFTs before we go. Either that or we lose our money. Al double vaccinated apart from the children.

shinynewapple21 · 14/06/2021 20:40

I would .

And from what you've posted , that's only 6 people anyway which is allowed .

Wizzbangfizz · 14/06/2021 20:41

Just go I would - im done now.

iminthegarden · 14/06/2021 20:41

Just test and go!

ElinoristhenewEnid · 14/06/2021 20:42

Quote from Daily Mirror

from May 17 you will be allowed to stay overnight with family and friends. As in any indoor setting, this will be subject to the Rule of Six.

It is 6 people OR 2 households of any size - so your holiday party is within the guidelines.

MargosKaftan · 14/06/2021 20:45

I would. Most people would.

Assume its more than 1 dc each that knocks it over 6 people.

Its shit that we are in this situation but the government is being very unreasonable.

Forgothowmuchlhatehomeschoolin · 14/06/2021 20:46

l would definitely go

OldYorkshirePud · 14/06/2021 21:08

Thanks for all your replies - been googling all night Grin

We’re 6 in total, 3 different households so we aren’t breaking any rules!!

So happy!!
Thanks all

HermioneWeasley · 14/06/2021 21:19
