..... gone way above and beyond to help someone out only for them to not even remember what you did for them?

I don't want to go into details as it may be outing but last year I helped a family member out with something they were struggling to do themselves involving a lot of paperwork and running around. They asked for my help and I ended up doing everything for them as they really couldn't have done it themselves. They have benefited greatly from this and continue to benefit. Anyway this person was giving someone else advise on this subject and made out they did it all themselves. When we were alone I pointed out I had actually done it all for them (in a nice way, I wasn't being confrontational). They just looked at me with a blank stare and said no I didn't, I've never helped them with anything!

I can tell by the look on their face that they truly do not remember everything I did. It annoys me because they clearly did not appreciate the weeks I spent sorting this thing out for them, if they can forget so quickly and rewrite history.

I didn't expect family member to be forever thanking me but to say I've never done anything for them really hurt.

Anyone ever experience this?

Is the person elderly? I'd be concerned if they genuinely have no recollection of this event.

I was gonna say this too. I’d actually kindly ask them if everything was ok given they couldn’t remember

Don't do it again then ☺️
