I feel sad it’s ending

I feel sad as tomorrow is my last day on my course. I will start my new career in September.

I have enjoyed the course, the people on it, staff and people at my placement have all been nice people. I was able to study and work which I enjoyed doing both.

How can I take my mind off leaving as I know I will feel upset? I feel sad it’s all ending when I don’t want it to whereas usually with jobs it gets to the point of I can’t wait to leave. Thanks.

Look forward to starting your new job?

What was the course?

InnaBun · 14/06/2021 21:51

It's ok for it to feel sad

That's life, I'm afraid. You will feel sad for a while, vow to keep in touch with people, think about it a lot and maybe she'd a few tears but things will move on. Good luck in your career!

The course is working in education. Thank you all for your kind words. I know I’ll be ok in time and that things do come to an end for new things to happen.

Why take your mind off it?
There’s nothing wrong with feeling your emotions.
Let yourself feel sad, but also let yourself feel excited at your achievement and what’s to come next.

Not the same thing but I used to go on a lot of 2 day training courses through my old job.

It was like a little holiday, we were based in Soho so they'd get a deli to lay on a lovely lunch, tea breaks with cake/biscuits. Plus you got to leave at 4pm.

The training courses were very much in demand Grin

So YANBU to be said but sounds like you have a nice career to look forward to.

Thank you for reassuring me that it’s ok to feel sad. I said goodbye to everyone as I had finished before everyone else then left the building in floods of tears. I have been doing some temporary office work so went in to work earlier to take my mind off it. I’m going to probably cry again tonight but should look forward to the future and start applying for new jobs. I think I need to do something fun after such an intense year being restricted and studying.
