They give me the rage.

I sit on teams calls all day as my family know what do you think I'm going to do with a bloody voicenote? Whereas you can get away with a sly text/WhatsApp or even many I can hardly say hang on a minute guys I just need to listen to this!

Especially regarding a fucking cheesecake I don't want Hmm

Why is it so hard to call or text now?

Just me??

Same, especially when putting little ones to bed and need to be quiet. I hate the suspense!

I find them handy to leave people (hands often full) and handy to receive (I listen to them on the go/ as I'm cooking dinner/ while cleaning up etc). Only for chit chat with good friends though and non urgent messages only. Things like making specific plans, or asking to pick something up from the shop while you're out or whatever should be in writing.

My sister insists on these, apparently in Spain where she lives its very popular. I find it a bit like having a phone conversation but one sided, plus you have to find a suitable environment to listen to it, which means you may as well just ring them anyway.

jakeyboy1 · 12/06/2021 13:10

Yes exactly one sided and when I open it from my sister it's usually an expletive filled rant that I can't listen to in public!

Get her to use the microphone to type for her. Then send as a text/whatsapp.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 12/06/2021 13:46

My friend sends me these because he’s dyslexic and finds talking easier than typing. That’s fine with me as it makes him more comfortable - but on a personal level, I don’t like them. I don’t feel the need for a halfway house between a phone call and a text!

I love them because I can talk without interruption 😂😂😂
