I have a confession...

... the washing I hung out at lunchtime is still damp so I plan on leaving it on the line overnight to get darked on.

I know IBVVVU (I can feel those spider willies already), but I have no shame BlushGrin

That has no power on mumsnet😂😂😂

HeechulOppa · 11/06/2021 20:35

Your whole post made me laugh

Medusastill · 11/06/2021 20:35

I usually hang mine out at midnight before I go to bed.. that way I can catch an extra ten mins in bed in the morning Grin so mine is darked on every night!!

Notgoingtobefatformuchlonger · 11/06/2021 20:37

Mine has been on the line since yesterday. It rained all day yesterday. Didn't dry today, so it's staying there until tomorrow!

Neighbors are probably disgraced 😂

Merryoldgoat · 11/06/2021 20:39

People like you really bring the neighbourhood down. Shame on you OP.

Darked on and Cloud-Moist Grin
BewareTheBeardedDragon · 11/06/2021 20:43

I do it occasionally 👀

I'm not bothered by spiders willies - it's more the bugs that tend to them take up residence and thus travel into the house on the dry clothes. Usually earwigs around here 😱
I did once find a poor ladybird at the bottom of a bag of washing which had come in and then not been folded and put away for several days. I felt doubly bad for my slovenly behaviour that day... (she survived and I released her back to outdoor freedom I hasten to add)

MumW · 11/06/2021 20:44

Thanks for reminding me -there's a load of washing in the machine just asking to be darked on.

As an aside, WIBU to ask why night time spider willies are an issue but daytime ones are ok? Confused

Lollypop701 · 11/06/2021 20:44

You sound like a person who has a sex pond op…. Sorry hot tub!

Boy spiders are a shy lot in the daytime but become brazen Willy wavers by night 🕷
Tlollj · 11/06/2021 20:49

Surely it’s dry enough for ironing 😉

Here come my next unreasonable statement.... I don't own an iron. We are a family of easy wash non-iron fabrics! (Dons hardhat) Grin

My sister left her towels out for a good darking. In the mid morning, when they were free of morning moist, she collected them and HEARD spiders walking across them. They were so big and hairy, their horrible leg pieces were caught in the fibres and she could hear the little
snapping sounds as they woke up and charged around in a moment of WTF.

My towels are now always tumble dried. Fuck the spiders, they'll be crisped if they even try camping on my towels

jetadore · 11/06/2021 21:37

This was funny the first few hundred times but it’s getting a bit boring now.

Catflapkitkat · 11/06/2021 21:39

Perfecrly acceptable for today's busy woman providing there are no undercrackers riding the breeze

hauntedvagina · 11/06/2021 21:44

I did bring my washing in, but I forgot the socktopus.

Can't be fucked to go out and get in. Am hoping the spiders take one look at the eight legged giant and assume they've met their overlord so stay well clear.

Theunamedcat · 11/06/2021 21:45

I cant do that because my neighbours are cannabis smokers that smoke all night you could get high off my towels if I left them overnight outside plus the spiders are too stoned to move by morning and i end up doing a crazy flapping dance which means my neighbours think I take drugs

thesunwillout · 11/06/2021 21:57

I've done it too!!

2 towels, first timer here.

Weather has been awful here but it's supposed to cheer up from tomorrow.

I've also blitzed my kitchen.

I have no idea what is wrong with me today.

wishawish91 · 11/06/2021 22:02

Also hung my washing out late afternoon when the sun went away and the clouds came, still warm, no rain but felt damp so they're staying on the line until 12pm tomorrow 😂

DinoHat · 11/06/2021 22:05

Why can’t you hang it overnight?

I hung mine in the evening as it was set to be 12 degrees overnight and it was dry by morning.

It went against my better judgement and I seem to recall you shouldn’t but not sure why??

JewelGarden · 11/06/2021 22:06

'Here come my next unreasonable statement.... I don't own an iron. We are a family of easy wash non-iron fabrics! (Dons hardhat)'

You own polyester clothing? faints with horror

TheCanyon · 11/06/2021 22:07

I hung out one of dds and one of dhs tops to sun bleach stains, they stayed out for about 5 days. They are now yellowish on one side. I've not confessed yet, have hidden them away wondering if that Dr beckmans? might help?! I've been too ill to go get some but dh is in hospital and dds at her dad's so tomorrow I may go try.

ViciousJackdaw · 11/06/2021 23:51

socktopus

Never thought of it like that before but it's spot on!

MustardRose · 12/06/2021 00:34

I've just hung my laundry out to dry as well. But it's on a clothes horse in the dining room. I'm not daft.

Endoftether20 · 12/06/2021 00:38

Mine was hung out at 10pm as I am working away from home sun to Fri and didn't get home til 7pm. It will be dry by late morning at which point it will be folded ready to be packed again to travel Sunday am.

It's light just after 4am so won't be darker on much!
