Random fevers

Posting for traffic as I'm at a lost and doctors just fob me off with "viral"

so just to start off my son has had a normal Covid test and to rapid Covid test all come back negative
My son for the past few days keeps getting random fevers they last a few hours reaching 39.5 I give calpol and nurofen and after a couple of hours it goes. Sounds normal but he is other wise completely fine all day bouncing off the walls then all of a sudden he says his head hurts stop drinking and eating then spikes a temp, then can't even stand up goes really dizzy and his breathing goes really heavy then after a few hours he's completely normal?
Then again same next day
His doctors say viral but he's fine otherwise like doing his normal terrorising so I don't think it's viral? As he's had infections before and all day he's poorly for a few days untill fully recovered
But I have noticed he's lost some weight in the past few weeks as his legs was always chunky and now there not so much

Has anyone else had this, is it just viral infection
Any help will be greatly appreciated
Thankyou

That doesn't sound normal, no. I would follow my instincts and ask for a blood test/go to a&e if I were you, especially with the headache thing Confused. You know how he reacts when he is usually ill and it soumds like this is out of the norm for him?

I din't mean to worry you but when I went throygh a similar thing last year with my daughter, I was tils by the hospital that fevers of greater than 5 days duration in a child always need checking out as there are a few nasty things that can mimic viral symptoms.

@Chwaraeteg Thankyou I'm phone up again he's completly normal again now after having a temp of 39 for three hours and wouldn't stand r nothing and now eating my crisps back to normal as nothing happened just a bit clammy! He's a very very active boy so to see him so slump and out of it is worring but because it goes after a few hours I feel like a&e will be pointless as the waits very long there
He's 2 so can't express everything properly yet just points to his head and says hurts and his eyes go watery and red and when he moves he's flinches and whines.. but again hes back to normal now it's all very strange
