Sorry for posting on this board but hardly get any replies on any other ! So apologies

So me an DH have been TTC for just over a year now. My periods recently haven't been as regular or on time. Have made an app with GP so waiting to be booked in.

Now my periods are around 8 days late. About 4 days ago I took a pregnancy test which was negative. 2 days ago I had a very light bleed which I thought was my periods but after that nothing at all. So last night me an DH had sex and there was blood everywhere. So I thought damn started my periods. Sorry for TMI but after that again nothing ! No periods no blood or anything so it was literally only when we had sex.

Could this be spotting an I did pregnancy test early? Is there any chance I could be pregnancy or I just need to accept the negative pregnancy test an not get hopes high. Has this ever happened to anyone at all? Just needed some advice an abit of comfort really lol. Xxx

When I fell pregnant I bled very lightly at around 2/3 weeks and again when we had sex around that time. Give it a week or so and try another pregnancy test Smile hope everything works out!

CuntyMcBollocks · 10/06/2021 13:34

Similar happened to me when I fell pregnant. I had very light spotting/bleeding around the time my period should have started, which is what I thought it was. I also had cramps, but it turned out that I was pregnant. Wait a couple more days and then test again. You can get false negative results with test, so it's best to do another at a later date.

Flowerpot28 · 10/06/2021 14:11

This actually happened to me, right down to the big bleed after sex. I now have an almost 4year old !! Hope it works out the same for you :) x

WineIsMyMainVice · 10/06/2021 14:20

I also had some bleeding which I thought was my period and it turned out I was pregnant. Good luck op.

Awwwww guys !!! I really hope I am pregnant it's getting me so emotional even thinking about it. I really want a baby. It's been a very long tough year of me an DH TTC. I just hope this is it an I am pregnant this time. I just don't want to get my hopes high. Feel so tired of always getting the negative pregnancy test :(

When Shal I tests again?

Thanks for ur replies guys it's means a lot :) x

Fingers crossed for you OP. Give it a couple of days (2/3) before you test again Flowers

LovesLags123450 · 10/06/2021 23:03

@CuntyMcBollocks Awww thank you. Yeh will test again in a few days. I am slightly bleeding abit today but it's not like a period yet. It's a very light colour an abit of spotting.

Fingers crossed I really hope I am this time x

Conventional wisdom is that if you’re pregnant enough to be several days late for an otherwise regular period, you’re pregnant enough to turn a modern early detection pregnancy test positive. However it can vary, because every body is different. If you’re unsure, you can retest. Once you’re a week late, you should get a reasonably accurate result, assuming your periods are regular. I do hope you get the news you want. Flowers

mediumbrownmug · 11/06/2021 01:03

Just saw that you said your periods are not regular at the moment, which would make it difficult to know when you might have ovulated and therefore when a test would be accurate. Have you considered or tried an ovulation predictor test? It can predict, based on your hormone levels, when you will ovulate. It might give you a better understanding of your timings in the future.

LovesLags123450 · 11/06/2021 11:27

@mediumbrownmug I have used the ovulation test kit previously. I used it for a whole month an my ovulation was never high it was always very low so stopped for a while as when TTC it was quite draining.

The ovulation prediction you mentioned is it the same thing as the ovulation tests ? Or something completely different. Sorry if that's a silly question just not quite sure. Thank you xx

An ovulation prediction kit will predict the day you ovulate, based on your hormone levels. If your hormones are not peaking and your body is not ovulating, it might be a good idea to check in with your doctor to make sure nothing else is going on. I wish you the very best of luck. Smile

LovesLags123450 · 11/06/2021 15:35

@mediumbrownmug Awww thank you very much. Il have to give the kit a try an see how it goes. I'm also going to try another pregnancy test in a few days as I'm still bleeding but it's literally only when I wipe so not filling any pads or anything like that. Sorry for TMI lol.

Yeh I'm waiting to be seen by the docs just to make sure eveything is ok etc.

Thank u so much for your advice x

I’ve kissed two periods and only got my positive at cd58!! Due at the midwife tomorrow to try to figure out how far along I am. Don’t give up hope x

LovesLags123450 · 30/06/2021 20:11

@Kt1111 Awwww congrats! Well I can confirm
I'm definitely not pregnant. I have been on my periods for a month now I just don't understand why. I have had a blood test and eveything comes back normal.

I’m sure things will settle. I think a lot of the time when you’re not thinking about wanting it to happen it just happens when we least expect it. Have some time for yourself, relax and see what happens x

Blanca87 · 30/06/2021 20:44

Have you had the COVID vaccine recently?

LovesLags123450 · 30/06/2021 20:55

@Kt1111 Thank you! I hope they do settle as we are TTC an this is defo not helping lol.

@Blanca87 No I haven't had the vaccine as of yet so it's not that. I'm just so confused to why this is happening

I hope you get it sorted.❤️
I had a rouge period 10 days after my original period, this was 5 weeks after my jag. Hence why I asked.

LovesLags123450 · 30/06/2021 21:55

@Blanca87 Aww thank you. I know a few people have mentioned that after their jab they had some issues with their periods. I haven't had mine yet.
