To think this is batshit crazy?!

The parent of my daughter’s best friend sent me a message asking me to call her. I called her where I was met with a rant about how my daughter had not invited her daughter to her party. I explained that DD hasn’t had a party this year as her birthday fell in the lockdown.
Parent has retaliated by excluding my DD in her DDs party this year?!
AIBU to think that she’s being ridiculous?! She thinks I’ve had a secret party without her DD but I haven’t as it was in full lockdown?!

Extremely batshit. Is she normally reasonable or always like this?

Best response is no response in this case. Don’t react and don’t arrange play dates etc.

She be cray-cray. Ignore and avoid.

Mum233 · 09/06/2021 22:19

Her DD had a phase of being nasty to my DD and kept grabbing her. Class teacher got involved and now this Shock

Ignore her, pitty you can't just block her, but I suppose you might need to ring her re daughter's where abouts in the future. Surely your daughter's friend has a say in this? Or are they very young?

BunnyRuddington · 09/06/2021 22:21

I would try to encourage other friendships and make sure your DD knows that it's fine to play with someone else if her friend is having a bad day or feeling mean.

Mugsen · 09/06/2021 22:26

Are you sure your dd hasn't been winding her dd up? Seems a bit odd.

Howshouldibehave · 09/06/2021 22:27

When was your daughter’s birthday? Why ring you cross now??

TopBlogger · 09/06/2021 22:28

Where did she get her info from?

Mum233 · 09/06/2021 22:29

My DD apparently said to her friend that she can’t invite her to her party. This came the day after we had said that next year she may not have a party. That’s the only thing I can think of.

Other parents had warned me about her being odd!

Daughters birthday end of feb. This phone call was about a month ago but I’ve just found out that she’s snubbed DD for the party this week x

I once had a parent moan st me because my daughter hadn't let her daughter play with a doll. Ranting and raving at my door, I just looked at her and said oh fuck off. I've never spoken to another parent like that before or since she just happened to knock when I already had loads on my plate.

Pinkypink · 10/06/2021 12:47

Yanbu.
Mother and child seem v aggressive.
Avoid as much as possible and encourage other friendships

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 10/06/2021 12:52

YANBU

I would've laughed in her face.
what a nutbag.

I hope your DD and her friend aren't upset
