Paddling pool?

So with the weather heating up I've recently brought a swimming pool which I filled up this morning with cold water so it could heat up during the day in the sun for my DD to play in after I finished work.
My mum has literally told me off like a 5 year old for not putting any hot water in (from taps or boiling a kettle) it isn't a small paddling pool, it fits 6 people so took some time to fill.

When my DD was younger and I had a small paddling pool I did fill it with warm water as it only took a couple of kettles of hot water to be warm and being young I didn't want her to get cold.

I've been to no end of Bbq's or kids parties and parents never fill the pools with hot water unless you are dealing with young babies.

My DD played in the pool for about an hour in and out like they do this afternoon and not once was she showing any signs of being cold. I got in too and it wasn't freezing to me.

Maybe I'm in the wrong but I dont have all day to spend boiling kettles to fill an 8ft swimming pool 😂

AIBU to fill my pool with cold water?

My mum berated me for the same thing 😆

Tell your Mum that if she’s that bothered she can pay for you to get a hot outside tap fitted.

I think there is some middle ground here. I would just put one or two kettles in just before use.

Mymapuddlington · 09/06/2021 21:21

Should we be taking boiling water when we paddle in the sea because it’s a lot bloody colder than a paddling pool

Howshouldibehave · 09/06/2021 21:21

I’ve never put hot water in a paddling pool and I would frankly be unimpressed by someone berating me about what I choose to do in my own property. How rude!

StoneofDestiny · 09/06/2021 21:24

Hot water in a paddling pool? Why?

dorangme · 09/06/2021 21:28

@Mymapuddlington my mum didn't like that answer!

RightOnTheEdge · 09/06/2021 21:32

Tell your mum you are a grown woman and she can give up talking to you like a child.

Mine used to ask me to put warm water in but they splash and sit in the sea and local river and nobody warms that up for them.

A couple of kettles is going to make zero difference in an 8ft pool.

That would piss me off too. Why do other people think they have the right to comment on your parenting? kids don't feel the cold like we do.
having said that I fill mine up with hot water as it is soooo nice and I like to get in myself. you can get attachments to fit on your inside tap to add you hose pipe too.

Ignore - she's bonkers.
