Shoe laces!

funnelfanjo · 09/06/2021 16:54

Please help settle a pointless, hot weather fuelled argument debate. Which is the correct way to lace a pair of shoes?

YABU - laces straight across, as on left.
YANBU - laces criss crossing, as on right.

Won't change what I intend to do, but will give me the bragging rights on being correct! Grin

Shoe laces!

Which ever way you want Confused

BilboBercow · 09/06/2021 16:59

Straight across

stayathomer · 09/06/2021 17:01

If they both work they both work- have done both!!!( sorry opGrin)

DoucheCanoe · 09/06/2021 17:01

Depends on the shoe.

My Vans are straight laced.
My Nike's are Criss crossed.

ApolloandDaphne · 09/06/2021 17:01

Which ever you prefer. I like criss cross as I find them easier to tighten and loosen.

PixieDust28 · 09/06/2021 17:02

Straight across.

legotruck · 09/06/2021 17:02

There isn't a right or wrong way?

So long as they can be tied it is just preference.

SoupDragon · 09/06/2021 17:03

Well, your crisscrossed one is wrong because only one end of the lace does the crisscrossing up the shoe.

dementedpixie · 09/06/2021 17:03

I like criss Cross too as they are easier to tighten and loosen

Pansypotter123 · 09/06/2021 17:03

One of each!? 🤔

SoupDragon · 09/06/2021 17:04

Ugh! The straight one is wrong.

The reason remains the same.

I cross cross both laces the way its shown in the picture
funnelfanjo · 09/06/2021 17:16

The straight on one the left is how both shoes arrived - I relaced in criss-cross fashion, which started a discussion with DH saying how the one on the left was obviously the "right" way to do it as that was how the shoes were sold.

I prefer criss-cross as I find it easier to tighten and release. Plus it looks prettier.

Straight looks better imo. Cross cross is easier.

Both are 'correct'.
