I can't believe they seem to think they have only committed a petty crime!

What do you mean? I can’t believe so many think yabu

I need to be clear on what you're saying here.

TotallyObsessed4 · 10/06/2021 01:30

To be fair it’s only 1 person who thinks that but it’s a bit shocking! Should really say in prison for life!

ComtesseDeSpair · 10/06/2021 01:33

Is this particularly unusual? Almost by definition people who commit crimes don’t think they were doing anything wrong and can justify it to themselves or come up with mitigating reasons. If criminals of any type thought they were doing something horrendous and unforgivable then they surely wouldn’t commit crimes in the first place.

callmemaybee · 10/06/2021 01:48

Gets convicted of gang-raping a 13 year old child (amongst others)

“We have not committed that big a crime.”
“I’m innocent”

It’s almost humorous that he committed one of the worst crimes yet publicly said that.

To be honest I think just he’s digging himself a bigger hole, which is a good thing. If that’s not that big of a crime, he’s clearly doesn’t hold the shared ideals of the British. He doesn’t see the error of his ways and will always pose a risk to the rest of us. I can’t believe his legal representatives actually advised him to take this route. He’s sabotaging his chances of staying frankly.

See if he took responsibility and apologised for actions, maybe we would be in trouble with him being allowed to stay. But as it stands, I can’t see why he wouldn’t be deported

callmemaybee · 10/06/2021 01:49

@BettyBurntBuns some of us have jobs and are at work at 11am

MintyCedric · 10/06/2021 08:59

Why the hell they weren't on the first plane out of the country the day they were released is bloody ridiculous.

Deportation arrangements should have beennin place and watertight before the end of their (laughable) sentences.

As for 'renouncing citizenship' is that even a thing? Regardless the fact they are clearly showing no remorse should cancel that out.

'Stateless' my arse...tough shit.

Weirdfan · 10/06/2021 09:18

It is a petty crime to them, those girls were/are worthless in their eyes so they don't think they did anything wrong. Sooner they're deported the better Angry

sleepygnome · 10/06/2021 11:14

This attitude is not really surprising when they see that our own government doesn't seem to think these girls lives matter considering how lax they have been regarding deporting these criminals. I wonder why they haven't been deported yet?

AutistGoth · 10/06/2021 11:55

You're all correct. This makes me so angry! Angry His lack of remorse demonstrates just how cheaply he holds the lives and wellbeing of these children who he raped.

These criminals should be either deported or face life imprisonment. I wonder what the general opinion is amongst the law abiding citizens of Rochdale?

WoolieLiberal · 10/06/2021 11:58

I don’t think it would be right to deport them to Pakistan.

Why should the poor girls there (who have it hard enough as it is) face the additional danger of having these men free to rape them there?

I would send them on a much shorter journey.

About a mile or so.

Preferably one coloured green...

Weirdfan · 10/06/2021 13:54

I wonder what the general opinion is amongst the law abiding citizens of Rochdale?

There are groups still protesting and trying to get justice for the girls in Rochdale so it's still in the public consciousness at least.

Mytiredeyeshaveseenenough · 10/06/2021 14:04

They haven't been deported because of Human Rights laws. The Government sadly can't just deport on a whim regardless of how utterly repugnant the individuals are.

If these things can't see what they've done is wrong it's another reason to deport them. Or detain them indefinitely on public safety grounds.

Or completely ignore the matter and wonder why the far right pick up on such examples...

I think she meant on the article, not here!

BettyBurntBuns · 12/06/2021 22:13

@callmemaybee jobs don’t limited to 9-5 and also no posts until I posted at 1am

callmemaybee · 13/06/2021 00:54

@BettyBurntBuns my point is that no one commented because perhaps they didn’t see the post? I was busy at work, and those that don’t work 9-5 may have been busy elsewhere or even sleeping in prep for a night shift when OP posted…

It doesn’t mean “women are burying their heads in the sand”

BettyBurntBuns · 13/06/2021 01:04

@callmemaybee there has been little to no outrage about these rape gangs for many decades.... that’s what I meant

EinAugenblickBitte · 13/06/2021 03:22

@WoolieLiberal what do you mean?

Willowkins · 13/06/2021 03:39

EinAugenblickBitte I think WoolieLiberal is referencing the movie Green Mile and the death penalty.

SofiaMichelle · 13/06/2021 04:33

They wouldn't rape Pakistani girls.

Hopdathelf · 13/06/2021 07:48

They wouldn't rape Pakistani girls.

You have no idea if that is the case. Not helpful.

BarbarianMum · 13/06/2021 08:03

Wherever they live I imagine local women and girls will be at increased risk. That's unfortunate but it is exactly for this sort of serious offence that the right to live in the UK should be rescinded.

SofiaMichelle · 13/06/2021 09:04

@Hopdathelf

These gangs abuse young, non-Muslim, white girls. They see them as sub-human and not worthy of respect.

It's their MO. It's their raison d'etre.

We know that. Everyone knows that. It's just that some local authorities chose to ignore if for fear of appearing to be targeting criminals by ethnicity.
