Cameras in toilets

My friends daughter has started a new secondary school this week.
Today she had gone to use the loo and found these places above the cubicles.

Is this even legal? She's 13

They won’t see in to the cubicals just a lot of bullying and stuff go on in there

I would imagine they're adjusted so that nothing is visible below head height.

Hopefully they don't point towards the cubicles but I'd still be asking for evidence of that. I wouldn't feel comfortable using a toilet with a camera I could see from the loo so I wouldn't expect someone else too.

ask the school.
the camera should show the entrance only. never the cubicles
